What we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. This describes what the site actually does, not what a template says.

Your email, delivery address and what you ordered. We need these to send you the right things and to prove the order happened.
We do NOT receive or store your card details. Payment happens on Stripe, and your card number never reaches this website or our servers.
Your email address, the code we issued, and when. We use it to send the code and, if you have not opted out, occasional news about the brand. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link and we honor it.
We store a shortened form of your address so that one person cannot collect the same discount repeatedly under different spellings of the same inbox.
Your email address and which app you asked about, nothing else. Try the Look works in some chat assistants and not yet in others, and this is how you ask us to tell you when one of them is ready.
We will write to you once, if that app connects, and for nothing else. It is not a newsletter and it is not joined to your orders. If that app never connects, we never write, and the record is deleted after two years either way.
Try the Look shows you our shades on your own face. To do that we need your photo, and a photo of your face is sensitive — so here is exactly what happens to it.
Whether you choose an existing photo or take one with your browser camera, only the still photo you choose is resized in your browser and uploaded straight to our private, encrypted storage. It is not public, and it is not readable by anyone who happens to have the link.
It is then sent to Google, whose Gemini image model generates your result. Google processes it to produce that image and returns it to us. We do not use your photo to train any model, ours or anyone else's.
We do not run face recognition. We do not measure or store faceprints, facial geometry, or any other biometric identifier, and we never use your photo to identify you or to match you against any other image.
We do not sell photos, share them for advertising, or attach them to your marketing profile.
When your picture is ready we ask whether you like it. If you answer, we record the answer together with the product and the shades you chose, so we can tell which colors are working. We do not record the picture, we do not keep anything that identifies you alongside it, and if you have turned off analytics cookies or your browser asks sites not to track you, we record nothing at all.
You can begin Try the Look from a chat assistant, by following a link it gives you. If you did that, one part of this is different and it is worth being clear about.
Your photo is still only ever handled by us. You choose it and upload it here, on our page, into the same storage described above. It is never sent to the assistant, and it is never sent to the company that runs the assistant.
Your finished picture is different. It is delivered back into that conversation, which is hosted by the company that operates the assistant, and once it is there it is held under their terms and their retention, not ours. The deletion limits below apply to our copy. They cannot apply to theirs.
The link that starts one of these sessions can only be used once and stops working after about 30 minutes. Until then, anyone you forward it to could use it instead of you, so treat it as personal.

A chat session can also use a different shade in different places — brows, eyes, cheeks, lips, lip liner — where the product you picked covers them. Two of our shades, 03 Rouge and 07 Désirée, are not used on brows, because the picture comes out with brows a brighter red than anyone asked for. If you choose one of those for brows we use our own deep red-burgundy there instead, and we say so: once when the session starts and again with the finished picture. Nothing else about your look is changed without telling you.
On this page on its own you pick one color for the whole look. That is the same render either way.
These limits are enforced automatically by the storage itself, not by someone remembering to delete things:
The photo you upload is deleted after 1 day. Your finished result is deleted after 30 days, so an emailed link still works for a while. An attempt we could not process is deleted after 14 days.
If you want yours gone sooner, email orders@larougebrows.com and we will delete it. You do not have to give a reason.
We use PostHog to understand how the site is used — which pages, which products, and where people get stuck. This includes session replay: a reconstruction of your visit that can show pages, clicks and scrolling.
Everything you type into a form is masked before it is recorded. We do not use advertising cookies or record your card details; Stripe handles payment in its own secure checkout.
PostHog sets optional analytics cookies and local-storage entries whose names begin with "ph_". They help us recognise a returning browser and measure site use. You can turn analytics off in the control below; we then stop PostHog capture, session replay and persistence on this browser.
If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control opt-out signal, we load no analytics or session replay at all.
We use essential browser storage for things the site cannot work without — remembering your cart and whether you have already been offered a discount — and the optional analytics cookies described above.
We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell your data to anyone.
Stripe, to take payment. Amazon Web Services, which hosts the site and sends our email. PostHog, for the analytics above. Each is a service provider acting on our instructions, not a buyer of your data.
Order records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Discount-code records expire automatically after a year. Analytics data is retained by PostHog under their standard retention.
Email orders@larougebrows.com to see what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop marketing. We will not make you justify the request.
Depending on where you live you may have additional rights, including under the California Consumer Privacy Act. We apply the same process to everyone regardless.
This site is not intended for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
